I thought I would take a minute to tell you a little bit about myself.

My name is Adam Hocking, I am 30 years old, I am a Microsoft Certified Professional and I am based in Helston.

I developed an interest in computers from a very early age. I went on to study Computing and Information Technology in various guises to HND level. I have also studied Microsoft and Cisco Networking Technologies.

My first IT job was for Cornwall County Council where I was an IT Technician for the Adult Education Department. My job was to look after all of the Adult Education IT infrastructure as well as teach adults up to the age of 95 how to use computers and show the students what computers could actually allow them to do.

After three years in this role I decided to leave Cornwall in 2004 and move to Sussex to further my career. I managed to gain a job as an IT Field Service Engineer for Geoffrey Osborne Ltd, a regional construction company based in Chichester.

This job involved looking after over a thousand users with their various IT issues, both in offices and construction sites throughout the country. This job helped me to evolve and enhance my knowledge in Microsoft products as well as Dell, HP and Compaq products, and peripherals including Blackberry’s, iPAQs, and 3G Cards.

I also have vast experience in Broadband services, Virtual Private Networking, and both wired and wireless networking technologies amongst other things.
